Brandon Pfaadt is starting the Wild Card series opener for the Diamondbacks. His 2023 season between the big club and Triple A Reno produced 31 starts.
-19 starts with the big club-ERA 5.72
-12 starts for Triple A Reno-3.61 ERA
“We believe in Pfaadts ability”, said Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovello on Monday.

Speed on the bases.
GM Mike Hazen loves his teams speed.
“we have speed, we have smart baserunners”
“we’re capable of putting pressure on teams that doesn’t necessitate a three-run homerun”

Brewers starting pitcher injured
Milwaukee will be without righthanded starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff. The team announced on Monday that he will mss the series becauase of a shoulding injury.
Torey Lovello – “You always want your competitors best, so if you manage to march on you can always say you did beat their best, but I know the Brewers have some very capable pitchers who can step in on those next roles. The common thought is to exhale and say, well Woodruff isn’t starting. We’re not going to fall for that”
