Pollsters Disrespect Arizona State Basketball

Knocking off the top-ranked basketball team in the nation did little in the rankings for Arizona State. The Sun Devils, who lost last week at Vanderbilt but beat #1 Kansas on Saturday night, moved up just one spot in this weeks AP college basketball rankings. ASU is 17th, Kansas tumbled to fifth after the loss in Tempe
The tiny jump in the polls shows a disrespect towards the Pac-12 which is understandable considering just how poor the conference has performed in the first six weeks of the season. However, Arizona State has just two losses, both on the road, to #6 Nevada and unranked Vandy.
Meantime, ASU has beaten 19th ranked Mississippi State along with KU. It simply doesn’t add up.
Arizona State came in 43rd in the Ken Pom rankings and 31st in the NCAA Net Rankings.
For those who thought beating a previously undefeated top-ranked team, would equate to a top-ten program, think again. No other program in the Pac-12 made this weeks Top 25.
Arizona State is off until Saturday afternoon, when they host Princeton at 2pm.
