It’s been quite the week in downtown Phoenix with the Women’s Final Four being hosted here.
To cap things off, UCLA won its first national title in program history, thrashing South Carolina, 79-51.
Future WNBA lottery pick Lauren Betts was named the tournament’s most outstanding player. She finished this game with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks.
Gabriela Jaquez led the UCLA scoring effort with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
“It’s not every single day that your sister gets to play in the national championship, let alone for your alma mater.”

Overall, this weekend seemed to be successful. The games drew large crowds (a sellout in the title game) and the free events hosted by the Arizona Sports & Events Alliance were stellar.
Arizona, rasing the bar for major events yet again.
