This season the Perry Pumas are playing under a new head coach and with a new purpose. If you look closely, on Friday nights you will notice all the ways the football team is honoring and commemorating their teammate Zyon Anderson. Zyon had been battling depression and passed away by suicide in the Summer of 2021. Zyon’s best friend Connor Grimes makes an effort every day to show his love for his former teammate and best friend. Since his passing, the new coaching staff at Perry has started an initiative to focus on the mental health of their student-athletes and students across the school.
