Sometimes you have to take stalk in what you have. Count your blessings. It’s easy when that person, place, or thing is suddenly taken away. Now with the sports calendar flipped over to July, I’m not sure when sports in Arizona will return to normal. I know for certain I miss the following people, places, and things when it comes to the Arizona sports scene, especially the villains….

Kyler Murray, Jayden Daniels, Lebron James (no better energy than Suns vs Lakers), DeAndre Hopkins, (even though he hasn’t played a down yet) Diana Taurasi, Mad Bum (see DeAndre Hopkins), Larry Fitzgerald, Russell Wilson,  Steph Curry, Herm Edwards, Clayton Kershaw, Devin Booker, Kevin Sumlin, Taylor Hall, Richard Sherman, Josh Christopher, Eric Sorenson and Jordan Hamm, Chandler Jones, Zeke Jones,  Monty Williams,  Deandre Ayton, Rick Tocchet, Marcus Bagley, Britney Griner, Darcy Kuemper,  Bobby Hurley vs Sean Miller, The Havoc’s, Deamonte Trayanum, Bryce Drew, Ty Thompson, Kliff Kingsbury, Charli Turner-Thorne, Phoenix Raceway (love driving under the tunnel and hearing the roar overhead), Sammy Duane, Al McCoy, a high school sideline or gym on a Friday night, Jason Jewell,  Jody Jackson, Kent Somers, Eddie Johnson, Doug Haller, Jeff Scott, Jeff Munn, Ron Wolfley, Bruce Cooper, Chris Karpman. before a game,  Mikey Keene, batting practice, Chad Johnson Jr., David Hines, Stevie Rocker, peanuts at a Diamondbacks’ game, a Lakers’ game in downtown Phoenix, a Blackhawks’ game in Glendale, a Cowboys’, Packers’, Bears’, Steelers’, Raiders’, Browns’, Broncos’ game right next door, Damian Lilliard, sitting next to Larry Fitzgerald, Sr. at a Cardinals’ game, Julie Fie, Doug Tammaro, elevator operators, sideline chats with referees before the game, a pre-game chat with Jeff van Raaphorst, James Harden, Ralph Amsden, Chilly, Dylan Anderson, Utah Utes football, 12:30pm kickoffs on a Saturday, 6pm kickoffs on a Monday or Thursday, 3:30pm Sunday tip-offs for a postseason NBA game (hasn’t happened here in 10 years) Marc Beasley, Steve Hogan, Ken Kendrick, my seat at a Arizona Coyotes game, partners and friends at a tailgate or suite before a game (during a game isn’t bad either), Bob Brenly, etc…

None of us know if sports will ever return to the way it was before the virus hit in March.  I certainly have my doubts, but am hopeful that I will get to see the people, places, and things again just like they used to be…
