The Phoenix Suns are 1-0 (doesn’t really matter) after beating the Golden State Warriors 108-104 in California.

The execution is what stands out more so than the results.

Who needs a “true” point guard? You have Devin Booker. 8 assists tonight, including three on the final possessions of the game. He’s the play maker this team needs.

Booker also finished with 32 points on 13-21 shooting. He’s going to continue cooking on his team.

Jusuf Nurkic is the better fit for this team at the “center” position than Deandre Ayton. There’s no knocking that, it’ll be proven on a nightly basis because of his IQ, passing skills, physicality, and willingness to do the dirty work. He’s the most important player on this team.

Bradley Beal being out is fine. Let him miss 5-10 games and get 100 percent healthy. The core three need about 55-60 games together to really find a groove. It’s the biggest thing to watch out for this year.

Plug and play the fifth starter. Grayson Allen had an off night. Josh Okogie always hustles. Yuta Watanabe is a nice spot starter.

The defense will only tighten up as the squad embraces Frank Vogel’s system.
