The Arizona baseball team is Omaha bound for the 18th time in program history. In a win or go home game in the Tucson Super Regional, the Wildcats pummeled Mississippi 16-3 to punch their ticket to the College World Series.

It was a total team effort, as seven Arizona players had multi-hit games. Leading the way was Brandon Boissiere, who had a monster game. He went 4 for 6 with 5 RBI’s, while Ryan Holgate, Kobe Kato and Donta Williams added in three hits apiece.

On the mound, Dawsen Netz got the start before giving way to TJ Nichols. Nichols had one of the biggest performances of the Arizona arms, hurling 5.1 innings of relief to help secure the victory.

Arizona will play No. 4 Vanderbilt in its first game of the CWS on Saturday, June 19. A time has not yet been announced for the opener.

Following the Arizona softball team going to the Women’s College World Series, the baseball team will now go to Omaha for the first time since 2016, when the Wildcats lost in the championship series to Coastal Carolina.
