NOTEBOOK-Sun Devils ready for Top Seed Oregon

So now Arizona State gets #1 seed Oregon here in Las Vegas on Thursday afternoon(1pm MT tip-off) ASU lost at Oregon by just one point when the two teams met last month in Eugene. Ducks guard Dillon Brooks scored the last 12 points in the game. Rebounding against the bigs of Oregon will the key for the Sun Devils. The guards of ASU had good success against the Ducks in their only meeting…

A few of the final stats for the Sun Devils in their 98-88 win over Stanford here on Wednesday left me shaking my head.
-ASU only attempted 52 shots, to Stanford’ 73
-ASU starting five accounted for 96 of the 98 points scored
-ASU turned the ball over 13 times and allowed Stanford 9 steals and yet still won
-Andre Adams 5 rebounds and 3 blocks in 16 mins. wont make any highlight reels, but he was a big reason why ASU won the game…

How did Stanford forward Michael Humphrey get away from ASU? I am sure Bobby Hurley is asking those around the program how that happened. Humphrey was a star high school football and basketball player at Phoenix Sunnyslope high school. From my understanding, his parents were on board with him going to ASU, but the lure of a Stanford education won out in the end. Humphrey had 18 points and 9 rebounds for the Cardinal in the loss. He also made the game-tying shot to force overtime. A great local product that got away…
