NFC lack of depth gives Cardinals a chance, NBA Tankapolooza, Barkley contract, more,..

Arizona Sports News online

Philadelphia is undefeated, and the New York Giants are 5-1. Our hometown heroes are the NFC version of the Denver Broncos. They are a HARD watch. But, I do not believe that it’s time to flush the 2022 season. How many good teams are in the NFC?  Vikings with Kirk Cousins at the controls? No. Brady and Rodgers squads? Not seeing it. Dallas? C’mon. How about the Rams? Have you seen the injuries, issues, and lack of production out of the defending Super Bowl champs? When the Atlanta Falcons are in the playoff picture after six games, then your Cardinals can’t be kicked to the curb. Getting to nine wins is the magic mark for the postseason. Do you see seven of the remaining eleven games as winnable? I do. Lotta bad teams today in the NFC, including the Cardinals. Who will figure it out in time?…

To put a further exclamation point on bad football, look at the schedule of NFL games this weekend. Cardinals v Saints isn’t going to make people across the country rush to their tv sets. Packers v Commanders, Bears v Patriots, Lions v Cowboys, Steelers v Dolphins?  The NFL has to have betting and fantasy football to keep people engaged. The protectors of the shield will point to ratings, I point to revenue as to why people consume the product. Who’s the Patriots QB?(Bailey Zapp’e)? Carolina QBs with injuries might lead to Jacob Eason getting the start. Case closed…

Charles Barkley gets a 10-year, 100-million dollar deal to stick with TNT. All I could think of when I saw this story was his great line about “stealing money”  while he does his thing on TV. Good for him…

If the Suns win 50 and the stars average 30 minutes a game, I’m good. Load management should be a common theme until mid-April. The Suns aren’t as strong a team to start the season as they were when Dallas eliminated them last May. Get back to me around late January, and let’s see who will be dealt. This doesn’t look like a championship team to me as the season gets underway…

The tanking that will go on this season as teams position to draft 7-foot-4 Victor Wembanyama next June, will be comical. Wembanyama is one of those generational talents.

So expect teams like Oklahoma City, Utah, etc, etc, etc. to tank and tank hard. G-league dudes on the shuttle. Trades that don’t make sense. There will be more bad teams as the season progresses because of the infatuation with the big man…

If you are a football fan at any level, you’d be smart to take in Hamilton at Basha on Thursday night. DVR the Cardinal game. You’ll thank me later…

I’d take Evan Longoria on the 2023 Diamondbacks…

The pace of Game One between the Padres and Phillies is what MLB should aim for. A clean, crisp playoff game that took less than three hours…

My wife wants the shift, I hate the shift. We argued over the shift while watching the game. Spouses argue over different things…
