The new Sun Devil Stadium unveiled

ASU Future Stadium

Arizona State layed out their plans for the future of Sun Devil Stadium on Tuesday. To say that the facility needs to be upgraded would be the understatement of the decade. For far too long improving the stadium has been on the back burner for many reasons.

Naming rights along with a financial commitment of 210-million from ASU will help pay for this project.
ASU will not move out of Sun Devil Stadium during the renovation process.

Some of the highlights include, the South end zone would be the student section, along with a student club area.

  • Escalators will connect various concourse levels
  • A new state of the art video board will be installed on the north plaza along with a new sound system
  • A “scrim” or video ribbon on the outside of the stadium
  • all public areas (concourse, restrooms, concessions, ramps) will be raised and rebuilt with more improvements.

Renovation of the stadium actually starts next month with the removal of the north end zone seating in the upper deck. Arizona State will request approval to begin the entire stadium project from the Board of Regents in September of 2014. If all is approved they could break ground in 2015.
