Each offseason, Madison Conner returns to MOVE Human Performance Center in Chandler to prepare for the next step in her professional basketball career.
Conner has trained at MOVE since high school while developing into a professional basketball player. After playing collegiately at University of Arizona and Texas Christian University, Conner was selected by the Seattle Storm in the 2025 WNBA Draft. She also spent time playing professionally in Spain and Mexico and continues returning to MOVE during the offseason to prepare for the next stage of her career.
Conner said every offseason is built around where she is physically after a long basketball season.
“Basketball is an eight-month season, so your body is super fatigued,” Conner said. “As you progress, you start to gain strength throughout this offseason. We do a really good job at tailoring it to the season that we’re in and what we’re trying to accomplish.”
MOVE co-founder Chad Dunn said Conner’s dedication has remained the same throughout the years.
“It’s a work ethic,” Dunn said. “It doesn’t matter if she loses or wins, she’s gonna be here the next day right afterwards.”
Dunn has worked with Conner since she was in high school and said one of the biggest changes he has seen is her maturity.
“Just the maturity,” Dunn said. “We get them in high school, and then we get ready to go to college. They face adversity, the transfer portal, being drafted and going overseas. It’s about how you handle situations that life throws at you.”
Conner said that mindset has helped her throughout every stage of her career.
“Nothing’s going to go as planned,” Conner said. “There’s ups and downs to every single season. At the end of the day, this is my job now.”
Although she now plays professionally, Conner said her motivation hasn’t changed. “I just always want to be the best at what I do,” Conner said.
