Milwaukee – The Answerbacks showed up.
Down 3-0 after two innings, Arizona would rally for three in the third and go on to a 6-3 win in the opener of the National League Wild Card series with the Brewers.
Evan Longoria was THAT guy for the Diamondbacks Tuesday night. Three hours before game one of the National League Wildcard matchup with the Brewers, Longoria spoke about the opportunity in front of the Diamondbacks. He said that his back felt fine. Yes it is.
Manager Torey Lovullo started Longoria at third-base and he delivered a play for the ages, leaping and extending to his left to stab a line drive off the bat of the bat of Brewers Tyrone Taylor to end a bases loaded threat in the fifth.

In the sixth inning, Longoria made a heads up play to nail the Brewers Christian Yelich, who had rounded second on a infield hit. Longaria shot the ball to Katel Marte who applied the tag. Longoria defense saved the night.
Offensively, the Diamondbacks rallied in the third inning tie the game at three. They would play long ball. Corbin Carroll hit a two-run home run deep into the right field pavilion and Ketel Marte would follow with a missile into the stands to tie the game at 3.

Gabriel Moreno crushed a Burnes pitch deep into the night to give the Diamondbacks their first lead, 4-3 in the 4th. Burnes threw 92 pitches and allowed the three home runs.
Christian Walker smoked a two run double in the top of the 9th.
Game two is here in Milwaukee Wednesday night with Zac Gallen starting.
