Arizona had the unique opportunity to bring some of the world’s top 3X3 basketball players and host Team USA’s National Set at Arizona Athletic Grounds.
The local ties on the court included the Wirth twins. Jenn Wirth (now Nispert) and LeaAnne Wirth were two of the best players to come out of the state. They played for the legendary Karen Self at Seton Catholic Prep before having decorated careers at Gonzaga.
Arizona State also had Jyah Lovett, Heavenly Greer and Makayla Moore participate as well. Moore had high praise for Molly Miller and the new Sun Devil staff. She’s excited to see how the team comes together this summer in this new era of Sun Devil hoops.
The fourth player on this team was none other than Alyssa Durazo-Frescas, who is very familiar with Coach Miller as well. ADF spent her final season with GCU and Miller last year and she set the WAC record for most threes in a season.
Oh, we also caught up with Jimmer Fredette, who is now the Managing Director of Team USA men’s 3X3.
