Kenny Dillingham Gives Offseason Snapshot

The Sun Devil football team are looking to keep the momentum after taking home the Big 12 title and make a College Football Playoff experience.

Part of that means adding to a roster that is filled with returners and making sure it player is taking their next step in their development.

The reality is that ASU football’s best seasons have been followed with regression. There are great seasons sure, but how many times has there been a clear run of success, especially in recent years? Head coach Kenny Dillingham is well aware of that, and is working hard to make this the new standard.

Quarterback Sam Leavitt burst onto the scene for the Sun Devils. In his first year as a starter, he totaled 29 total touchdowns while throwing just six interceptions.

So where does Leavitt grow from here? Dillingham likened him to a point guard on a great offense, but some small tweaks can help him take a jump to the next level.

One position room that has been overhauled coming into last season and continues to improve is the tight end group under Jason Mohns. Mohns has been lead recruiter on some elite recruits the past few years Jayden Fortier, AJ Ia and recently committed 2026 targets Israel Briggs and Hayden Vercher. Through the portal, the Devils added Khamari Andersonn from Kentucky as well.

This group continues to add depth to a group that features Chamon Metayer, who caught 32 passes for 306 yards and five touchdowns, and Cameron Harpole, who was a mainstay in the blocking game as well.
