ASU fans have been through it a bit the last couple weeks.
There were rumors in-season that various SEC programs had interest in Kenny Dillingham’s services in-season. While all of those roles have been filled, Sherrone Moore’s exit at Michigan opened the door to another blue blood program setting their sights on Arizona State’s head coach.
A week ago, he delivered an emotional response when talking about Arizona State.
Kenny Dillingham was asked about staying loyal to ASU.
He fell silent for 30 seconds and got emotional.
He was later asked about what brought out that emotion: “Just this place.” pic.twitter.com/lMb6tYUHAz

Chris Karpman had reported that the university and Dillingham were “close” to a revamped contract.
But for the last week, things were quiet publicly.
Dillingham was asked about trying to quell fans’ anxiety. He gave his perspective on the talks but did not go far enough to give an emphatic “I’m staying” statement.

Behind the scenes, Dillingham’s representatives been meeting with the athletic department as they approached amendments to the contract.
On Saturday, the deal was made official, pending Arizona Board of Regents approval.
Part of the new agreement comes with upping the assistant coach salary pool and additional resources for the program.
It can’t be understated the importance of keeping Dillingham in place and keeping a majority of the staff in Tempe as well. The Sun Devils could hit the 20-win mark over the last two wins if they beat Duke in the Sun Bowl at the end of the month and will look to retool a roster with plenty of graduates heading to the next level.
With these new parameters in place, not only can ASU try to keep up the momentum they’ve had in the last two years but also continue to build an infastructure to thrive in this current yet
You can now exhale, Sun Devil fans.
