A perfect cover to cover finish in the story of Joey Logano’s 2022 season.
This year began with something that looked out of a movie. A brand new NASCAR stock car with a sleek and sharp design took their wheels onto the legendary grounds of the L.A. Memorial Colosseum. A new type of race car, a new type of race track, and a new attitude and chapter of NASCAR was born as Joey Logano claimed victory in The Clash at the Colosseum for the sport’s exhibition race in February.
In this new car and new unknowns, not much was different when Logano, now a father of three children, took to Phoenix Raceway in November to claim a championship. In the biggest race of the year, four of NASCAR’s top drivers battled for the title and the Team Penske No. 22 dominated, leading 187 of the 312 laps to claim his second career NASCAR Cup Series Championship.
The offseason now begins for NASCAR as they prepare to visit the Colosseum once again on February 5 for The Clash exhibition race and officially kick off the season with the 65th Daytona 500 on February 19. NASCAR returns to Phoenix from March 10-12 and will again host NASCAR Championship Weekend from November 3-5.
