Every week, Scout.com and Sports360az.com recruiting insider Jason Jewell takes us around the state and spotlights the best performances during the high school football season. Here are the stars from week 10 of the 2013 season.

Player of the Week

* Elijah Marks from Desert Edge broke the state’s single season receiving yardage record against Agua Fria on Friday.  In the game he caught 12 passes for 324 yards and 3 TDs to put him over 1,800 yards on the year.

QBs

* Junior Dalton Sneed from Horizon threw for 400 yards and 6 TDs againt O’Connor.

* North Canyon’s Alex Flower threw for 319 yards and 3 TDs. Two of the scores went to Bryant  O’Georgia who also had a kickoff return TD.

* Junior Emanuel Gant from Tempe threw for 317 yards and 7 TDs against Alhambra.

* Desert Edge’s Anthony Hernandez threw for 471 yards and 4 TDs against Agua Fria.

* Nick Smith from Scottsdale Prep threw for 257 yards and 3 TDs.

* Seton Catholic’s Kyle Johnson threw for 253 yards and 6 TDs. Three of those TDs went to WR George Wolter.

* Antonio Hinojosa from Mountain Pointe had 253 yards and 4 TDs against Dobson.

* Thunderbird’s Jake Galtting had 327 yards and 4 TDs. Junior WR Adam Turner broke TBird’s recieivng record with his 165 yard, 3 TD performance.

* Payton Haslam from Mesquite had 222 yards and 3 TDs against Campo Verde.

* Desert Mountain’s Kyle Allen threw 4 TDs.

* Brian Woodward from Brophy threw 3 TDs.

* Junior Damian Alacron from Valley Vista threw for 306 yards and 5 TDs.

* Nogales’ Max Verdugo threw for 215 yards and 5 TDs in a win over Desert View.

* Great QB play on Thursday. Luke Rubenzer from Saguaro had 4 total TDs on offense and an INT playing safety. Marcos de Niza’s Josh Eckley had 296 yards passing and 3 TDs while also rushing for 91 yards and another score.

RBs

* Deer Valley’s Amyer Armstrong rushed for 172 yards and 4 TDs against Kellis.

* Braxton Barger from Chandler Prep had 258 yards and 3 TDs.

* Jacob Anderson from Williams Field had 212 yards and 4 TDs against Higley.

* Amphi’s Dante Anderson had 231 yards and 5 TDs.

* Antonio Campanella from Seton Catholic had 199 yards and 2 TDs.

* Adam Bennett from Chandler Prep rushed for 170 yards and 3 TDs.

* Empire’s Chance hatfield had 184 yards and 5 TDs against Douglas.

* Basha senior Rajhan Meriwether had 166 yards and 4 TDs against Gilbert.

* Junior Taren Morrison from Desert Ridge had 155 yards and 7 TDs against Mt. View.

* Ryan Velez, Brophy: 145 yards, 2 TD

* Hamilton’s David Desilva had 105 yards and 3 TDs against Perry.

* Bourgade’s Tristan Estfan had 301 yards and 4 TDs against Tonopah.

* Ricky Wilson San Tan Foothills had 204 yards and 2 TDs while also making 12 tackles on defense.

Receivers

* Massiah Smith from Tempe had 165 yards and 5 TDs against Alhambra.

* Doc O’Connor from Basha had 156 yards and 2 TDs against Gilbert.

* Daniel Schembri, Scottsdale Christian: 127 yards, 2 TD

* Scottsdale Prep’s Matt Munsil had 113 yards and 2 TDs.

* Saguaro junior Christian Kirk actually rushed for 123 yards and 2 TDs against Marcos.

Special Teams/Defense/All-Purpose

* DB Kyle Stanfier of San Tan Foothills had 3 INTs.

* Peoria LB Donovan Yabo had 16 tackles, 1 sack, 1 FF and 1 blocked punt in a win over Cactus.

* K.J. Sells from Desert Edge had 2 INTs, 1 he returned for a TD. He also made 9 tackles and had 3 PBUs.

* Will Lane from Scottsdale Christian had 3 sacks.

* Cody Carrel from Westview had 3 sacks.

* Mesquite’s Juan Giraldo had 3 TDs against Campo Verde on O while also making 7 tackles and 4 PBUs on D.

* Marana’s Ben Honea had 122 passing yards and 1 TD, 188 rushing yards and 1 TD and also caught 2 passes for 27 yards and a 3rd TD.

* Cameron Denson from Salpointe had 2 passing TDs, 2 rushing TDs, a punt return TD and a pick 6.
