“Thank you to Coach Breneman and Coach Herm for giving me the opportunity to come to ASU. I would also like to thank Coach Wood and Coach Aguano for providing me a chance to show what I can do. To Coach Dillingham, Coach Mohns and Coach Wade, thank you for helping me to continue turning myslef into the player and man I want to be all while challenging, encouraging, and believing in me.”

Conyers transfered to Arizona State from Oklahoma ahead of the 2021 season.

He caught six passes in his first season with the Sun Devils, and exploded on the scene in 2022, specifically when Shaun Aguano took over play-calling duties.

In the team’s final five games with Aguano leading the offense, Conyers nabbed 30 of his 38 catches and all five of his touchdowns.

In his first year with Kenny Dillingham, Conyers caught 30 passes for 362 yards and no touchdowns. He also served as a quarterback in ASU’s Hell-Cat formation, predominantly in the Sun Devils’ games against UCLA and Arizona, rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.

This will be a major area to address for Dillingham and tight ends coach Jason Mohns with Messiah Swinson and Bryce Pierre graduating and now Conyers entering the portal. As of now, redshirt junior Ryan Morgan is the only scholarship tight end returning to the roster, and he was on the field predominantly in a special teams capacity or run-blocker.

Four-star Oregon tight end Jayden Fortier is committed to the Sun Devils.

It will be a crucial few weeks for the Sun Devils as they look to build off the foundation laid in Year 1 of the Dillingham era.

The transfer portal officially opens on Dec. 4.
