We now know what the Diamondbacks have done with SOME of the money that they threw in the direction of Masahiro Tanaka this past offseason.
Hiring Tony La Russa to run the baseball side of the organization is one of the biggest shots of credibility to ever come to a Valley franchise.
He’s going into the Baseball Hall of Fame this summer, but that is just scratching the surface of what he brings to Arizona.
Watching the Diamondbacks kick the ball around the field this season will simply not be tolerated under La Russa. This years team has kicked the ball 34 times in 44 games.
To me this move signals another change in direction by a franchise that needs to find it’s way to stability. The constant change of front office, manager, and roster has been the theme for the better part of the last ten years.
To think that there aren’t going to be more bodies moving on after todays bombshell is simply naive.
This is a good day for Arizona sports, but it’s also an admission that more change is coming.
