The United States and Russia swapped prisoners early Wednesday morning. Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner wasn’t the one coming home. Trevor Reed, a former Marine, who had been held in Russia since 2019, was released back to the USA. Griner was detained in mid-February after Russian officials claimed that she was carrying vape cartridges containing marijuana hash oil. The maximum penalty in Russia for the offense is 10-years in prison.
