GCU Men’s Hoops Advances to WAC Championship

It wasn’t easy, but GCU’s talent and depth were too much for Seattle in the WAC semifinal on Friday night 80-72.

Conference Player of the Year Tyon Grant-Foster scored 28 points. Ray Harrison added 17, and Lok Wur was incredibly efficient off the bench scoring 12 in 22 minutes.

Their defense helped slow down a potent Seattle offense, a team that gave the Lopes trouble in the regular season.

The top-seeded Lopes will play the winner of Tarleton State and UT Arlington. In a unique turn of events, if Tarleton wins this matchup Friday, GCU would represent the WAC in the NCAA tournament no matter Saturday’s outcome.

Tarleton is in its final transitionary year as it joins the NCAA.
