“The Freight Train” On-Track For Big 2016

Arizona Sports News online

You know the big bats of the Diamondbacks named Goldschmidt and Pollock.

The Snake-faithful certainly know David Peralta, and it may not be long before the national baseball scene will know “The Freight Train” as well. Peralta spent last season protecting the above-mentioned bats and posted a .312 batting average, 17 home runs and 78 RBIs in a lineup that scored the second most runs in the National League.

On a spring day in March, you’ll find Peralta twirling a bat as he makes his way from the Salt River Field clubhouse to the batting cage with “The Freight Train” etched across his shirt. While some players are prepping for the day or collecting their thoughts, the converted pitcher looks like he has put in a workout (or a few) before the team activities begin. “The Freight Train” will move forward as a key cog in the D-Backs lineup and hopes to grow in the murderer’s row of the order, as well as defensively in right field.
