Arizona State wide receiver Frank Darby has been selected in the Sixth Round (187th overall) by the Atlanta Falcons.
Darby, who was a deep threat for Herm Edwards and the Sun Devil offense over the last few seasons, will look to enhance his skill set after seeing limited action in 2020. He was a leader this past season for a young ASU wide receiving core.
Darby did not play for most of the team’s season-opener against USC due to an injury, and after a prolonged pause within the program due to a COVID-19 outbreak, he also didn’t play against Oregon State in the final game of the season.
Throughout the challenging 2020 campaign, Darby caught six passes for 46 yards and a lone score against UCLA. Over his career, Darby hauled in 67 receptions for 1,317 yards and 13 touchdowns. One of his biggest outburts was in ASU’s 2019 upset over Oregon when he had 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
During his time in Tempe, the energetic, enthusiastic wideout was a fan favorite and his attitude was contagious when he participated in this year’s Reese’s Senior Bowl. Now he’ll look to carry that into Atlanta as he enters the Falcons wide receiver room.
