Arizona State Football continues to add through the transfer portal after a busy week of visitors.

The latest addition is at the quarterback position where former Michigan State quarterback Sam Leavitt announced his intention to transfer.

Leavitt will be a redshirt freshman who appeared in four games, preserving his redshirt.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound quarterback completed 15/23 passes for two touchdowns and two interceptions in that time.

Leavitt played his high school ball in Oregon and transferred to Utah in 2020 and the COVID impacted seasons. He returned to Oregon and won a state title with West Linn as a senior. He threw for 3,065 yards, completing 70 percent of his passes in the process with 36 touchdowns and five interceptions. He added 720 rush yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.

He reported to Brandon Huffman that the Sun Devils, BYU, Utah, Oregon State and Washington State had offered when he entered the portal.

This gives a little bit of clarity to ASU’s quarterback room moving forward, but there are still plenty of questions to be answered over the coming months.

Trenton Bourguet has announced his intention to return to ASU for his final year. Drew Pyne has entered the transfer portal. The current quarterback room includes Leavitt, Jaden Rashada, Trenton Bourguet and Jacob Conover.
