When it’s all said and done, Cody Williams will be remembered as one of the best high school basketball players to come through Arizona.

He took the next step in his journey Wednesday night when the Utah Jazz drafted him with the No. 10 overall in the 2024 NBA Draft.

The former Perry Puma was a McDonald All-American and averaged 18 points in his senior year on the Pumas’ way to a 30-1 record and an Open Division title.

He became the first five-star recruit for the University of Colorado in over 20 years. While he battled some injuries throughout his lone year in Boulder, he averaged nearly 12 points a game and three boards a contest.

And now the NBA is a family affair for the Williams crew as Cody joins his older brother Jalen in the league. Jalen was drafted No. 12 overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2022 draft and is coming off a season where he scored 19.1 points and four assists per game.

Mixing his passions for sports and storytelling, Jordan comes to Sports360az as a multimedia reporter/producer looking to share the best stories Arizona has to offer. You can follow him on Twitter and Instagram @JordyHamm
