Larry Fitzgerald doesn’t need August football. Heck, he probably doesn’t need the early weeks of the regular season either. “To be honest with you I just don’t have the urge to play right now,” Fitzgerald said on Sirius XM Radio Friday. In an interview with host and close friend Jim Gray, Fitzgerald added. “I don’t know how I’ll feel in September, October, November moving forward but I just, today, I just don’t have the urge.”
Fitzgerald has played 17 seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. He turns 38 later this month. As a free agent, Fitzgerald is free to sign with any team at any time.
