Here are some hi-lights from our most recent conversation (November 24th) with the Fantasy Sports Writer’s Association Hall of Famer.

If you’re looking for late waiver wire help at running back who are some names that may still be out there? “Thomas Rawls needs to be picked up in all leagues, especially after what he did [in Week 11]. Buck Allen for the Ravens also a very popular pick up after Justin Forsett unfortunately went down with an injury. There are some players out there. If you’re in a PPR league, Shaun Draughan had eight catches [in Week 11]. They don’t have anybody else in that backfield unless Carlos Hyde comes back. Listen, he’s not great but when all else fails play a guy who’s getting volume.”

How about at wide receiver? “At wide receiver you’re looking at Devin Funchess, potentially Tyler Lockett somebody like that. Wide receiver is really thin, especially on the waiver wire.”

Is Chris Hogan worth a roster spot? “No, again few and far between where you’re getting a good stat line from him. You’d really have to be Nostradamus to predict which games guys like that are actually going to produce because typically they’re not going to help you.”

What players stand out to you as having favorable match ups down the stretch? “Lamar Miller for sure…T.J. Yeldon, Blake Bortles because the Jaguars have a very favorable schedule over the last few weeks of the season. Sammy Watkins…the schedule is going to be good for him down the stretch. Drew Brees has a really good schedule. So does Brandin Cooks. So those are a couple of players you can target in trades or if you have them on your roster you’re probably pretty happy right now because they can help you down the stretch.”
