Fabiano’s Fantasy Focus: Week Ten, Vol. II – Opening The Mailbag

Every week during the NFL season, Sports Illustrated Senior Fantasy Analyst Michael Fabiano joins Sports360AZ’s Brad Cesmat to share his insight on building and developing your fantasy team for success.

In our most recent conversation with Michael (Nov. 9), we answered readers’ questions about lineup decisions, trades and more. Here is what the Hall-of-Famer had to say:

Matt Ryan Has Had A Quietly Productive Year In Fantasy. Should He Be Rostered?

“He’s been really inconsistent. He had a few good games and people started to gain confidence in him and then he had a couple of stinkers in a row. Last week’s matchup against the Saints was bad on paper, and he had a great game. He’s not typically going to run for a touchdown, so that was a little added bonus. He’s got the Cowboys this week and they just gave up over 20 points to Teddy Bridgewater. There’s four quarterbacks on bye this week, so go get Matt Ryan if you need a quarterback.

From The Mailbag: Is Tyreek Hill And Matt Ryan For Alvin Kamara A Fair Trade?

“It’s a fair trade. If you need a running back and trading Tyreek Hill is not going to hurt you at wide receiver, then I could certainly see that trade happening. I can see somebody being spooked by the fact that Patrick Mahomes has looked absolutely terrible the last three weeks, and Hill is tied to Mahomes statistically. Josh Johnson, the Jets third-string quarterback, has more fantasy points than Patrick Mahomes over the last three weeks, and he didn’t even play a full game.”

Should Managers Start Teddy Bridgewater This Week After His Big Game In Dallas?

“Against the Eagles? I don’t know. Philadelphia’s defense has been pretty good. I know Justin Herbert lit them up, but that’s Justin Herbert. If you’re in a two-QB league, then maybe start Bridgewater, but I think you can do better. The Eagles defense has been solid, and the quarterbacks that have put up big numbers against them have all been very good quarterbacks. Bridgewater isn’t a bad quarterback, but he’s no Justin Herbert.”
