Every week during the season NFL Network and NFL.com Senior Fantasy Analyst Michael Fabiano joins Sports360AZ.com’s Brad Cesmat to share his insight on building and developing your fantasy team for success.

Here are some hi-lights from our most recent conversation (October 14th) with the Fantasy Sports Writer’s Association Hall of Famer.

Are you losing faith in Joe Mixon? “I’m not going to walk away from Joe Mixon because I drafted him in the second round but he’s not even averaging four yards a carry. The Bengals are throwing the ball 70 percent of the time and that offensive line is terrible. Where Mixon was once a must-start guy, I think you have to play the matchups with him.”

How about O.J. Howard in Tampa Bay? “O.J. Howard is someone I’m walking away from completely, although it’s tough because the tight end position is so thin and everyone can’t play the Cardinals every week. It is unbelievable how many points they’re giving up to tight ends…O.J. Howard, maybe you can’t cut him because there’s nothing on the waiver wire. Tampa Bay does have a bye this week, though. He is certainly a player that I have sort of cut ties with.”

What’s your advice with Josh Gordon? “I mean, I’m not cutting him. I’m going to wait and see what happens with the knee. I didn’t see like it was a major concern. Whether or not he’s going to miss time, we’ll see but he hasn’t been producing from a fantasy perspective. But, he does have Tom Brady throwing him the football and I feel like, if there’s a player you’re thinking about dropping, you should consider whether or not he will immediately be picked up by another team if you do in fact put him on waivers. Now, if you have depth at wide receiver and you simply don’t need him, that’s one thing but I think Gordon’s a player I’d rather hold on to and see what happens with this new situation.”

Is the Baker Mayfield we’ve seen so far the one we should expect the rest of the season from a fantasy perspective? “He had a decent fantasy performance [Sunday] but he got a little banged up and he’s still turning the ball over too much. So, if you need that roster spot because Cleveland is on a bye this week, I would not be surprised to see Baker Mayfield dropped in some leagues here over the next couple of days.”

What’s your best guess on the Chiefs’ backfield pecking order? “A week ago it was Damian Williams who basically dominated the touches and dominated the snaps and LeSean McCoy had two touches. Sunday it was McCoy but no one really scored a lot of points. Darrel Williams was in the mix, as well. He had a long catch and Damian Williams had a touchdown catch so as explosive as that offense is, it’s a bit confusing outside of those top three players (Hill, Kelsey, Watkins).”
