Fabiano’s Fantasy Focus: Week Five, Vol. II – Hottest Waiver Pickups

Every week during the NFL season, Sports Illustrated Senior Fantasy Analyst Michael Fabiano joins Sports360AZ’s Brad Cesmat to share his insight on building and developing your fantasy team for success.

In our most recent conversation with Michael (Oct. 5), we

With David Montgomery Likely Out For The Foreseeable Future, Is Damien Williams A Must-Have On The Waiver Wire?

“Start him. Chicago plays the Raiders this week and it looks like Montgomery is going to be out a month or more. Damien Williams knows the offense. Remember, Matt Nagy was the offensive coordinator in Kansas City when Williams was there. He’ll probably be the hottest add off the waiver wire this week.”

The Broncos And 49ers Both Saw Their Starting Quarterbacks Go Down With Injuries. Are Drew Lock and Trey Lance Playable?

“I don’t like Drew Lock. I never liked Drew Lock. Drew Lock proved in a very short period of time why he should not be a starter in the NFL and he did it again last week when Teddy Bridgewater got hurt. Bridgewater might not play this week because he’s in concussion protocol, so can you play Drew Lock in a two-quarterback or super flex league? Sure, but Trey Lance, oh man. I love me some Trey Lance. He scored over 20 points in a half last week. If Damien Williams is the number one add off the waiver wire this week, Lance is 1A. Go get him.”

Dalvin Cook Has Had Another Frustrating, Injury-Riddled Season Up To This Point. What’s The Outlook On Him?

“If you watched the game against Cleveland, there were times when he looked totally fine. He was making cuts, he looked like he was good to go, and then he was out of the game. They’ve got the Lions this week. If you can’t beat the Lions without Dalvin Cook, you’re probably not a playoff contender. I would tell Mike Zimmer to sit him down, give him a week. That being said, if Cook is active, you have to play him. If he gets hurt during the game, what are you going to do?
