Here are some hi-lights from our most recent conversation (November 1st) with the Fantasy Sports Writer’s Association Hall of Famer.

What wide receivers would you stay away from this weekend? “Marvin Jones has disappeared since he had that 205-yard game against Green Bay in Week 3. In his last five games he has 248 yards combined. That is not good. Also not a fan of Doug Baldwin or Jeremy Maclin this week. Allen Robinson, I will say to sit him. He has been a disaster. I’m almost hoping I reverse jinx him here. If I tell everyone to bench him…maybe he has a huge game because I have him in two of my biggest leagues and he’s been a disaster.”

Who are some Week 9 quarterbacks you like? “Of course, Dak Prescott. You know I love Dak Prescott and not only because I’m a Cowboys homer but he’s awesome and I’ve been talking about him since the pre-season. He’s a great matchup against the Browns. I like Philip Rivers this week, as well.”

Where are you at on Charcandrick West in Kansas City with Spencer Ware’s status? “Well, Jamaal Charles is out and Ware has a concussion so unless Ware can pass the protocol, Charcandrick West is your starting running back in Kansas City this weekend. It’s a good match up against the Jaguars who just got destroyed by Derrick Henry and DeMarco Murray. So watch the news throughout the week to see what Ware’s status is because if he is out West is going to be a very good value play.”

I’m starting to lose patience with Russell Wilson. Thoughts? “I might drop him if I’m a fantasy owner. He’s done nothing. Has has done absolutely nothing outside of one game against the Jets my friend. He’s been terrible.”

This is a challenging week for tight end production, isn’t it? “You’ve got Rob Gronkowski, Martellus Bennett, Tyler Eifert. You’ve got C.J. Fiedorowicz, Jordan Reed…you’ve got some really good tight ends on a bye this week so there are going to be some tight ends who are going to be starting in fantasy leagues this week that are out of desperation.”

What wide receivers have favorable match-ups this weekend? “Jarvis Landry. There is no more ‘Revis Island,’ ok? That’s a vacation destination for wide receivers at this point. Did you know that wide receivers have caught almost 70% of the targets when they’ve been covered by Darrelle Revis this year? That is not a shutdown cornerback. I like Kelvin Benjamin this week. Watch for the status of Ty Montgomery. If he plays for the Packers then he plays for you. Donte Moncrief is also a good play.”

Who’s one surprise sit for you at quarterback this week? “You might think I’m crazy but you know I’m never afraid to be bold. Derek Carr has a terrible matchup this week. As good as he was last week against Tampa Bay, the Broncos have given him trouble in his career.”
