Here are some hi-lights from our most recent conversation (October 22nd) with the Fantasy Sports Writer’s Association Hall of Famer.

Buy or sell Adrian Peterson at this point with tough match-ups coming up? “I’m buying. How many featured backs are there in the league right now? Look, the Cardinals are great but Todd Gurley ran all over them and Adrian Peterson is a phenomenal running back. I’m buying on any featured running back in the league right now because there are so many [running back] committees. I mean, the committee in Arizona…is it Ellington? Is it [Chris Johnson]? Is it David Johnson? Anytime you can hook in a featured back and not have to worry about him losing carries to someone else, do it. I’m not worried about Adrian Peterson in the least.”

Christine Michael or Charles Sims this week? “I’m going to go Sims unless we hear that Michael has earned a starting job for the Cowboys. Right now we’re not sure because there have been some reports that he’s gotten some run with the ones in practice but until we find out he’s going to start I’m still going Charles Sims. Remember, they’re still using Darren McFadden as sort of the third down/passing down back…even if Michael comes in this is still a three-headed monster. Sims has been pretty good in terms of an RB4 who could potentially get you flex starter production.”

From a fantasy standpoint are you sliding towards the Patriots’ offense or the Jets’ defense? “I don’t care who Tom Brady is playing, I’m starting him. Dude is on a mission so you can’t bench Brady. I will tell you this: Dion Lewis is not a good start this week. He’s a flex in a PPR league. LeGarrette Blount not a good start this week. You have to play [Julian] Edelman, he’s been too good to bench but I do have him as a sit this week but that’s only if you have an elite wide receiver that you drafted in the first couple of rounds. Someone like Julio Jones and if you have someone like Larry Fitzgerald…maybe you can bench Edelman. But keep this in mind: Edelman has scored one touchdown is career against the Jets. One! And he’s never scored a touchdown at home against the Jets…it’s a risk. I see Edelman: seven catches, 80 yards. Somewhere in that neighborhood.”

How about the Jets’ skill players against New England’s defense? “Remember, the Patriots’ defense is not that great…you’re starting Chris Ivory, you’re starting Brandon Marshall, you’re starting Eric Decker. I even like ‘The Amish Rifle’ Ryan Fitzpatrick this week. If you’re hurting at quarterback and a lot of people are…Fitzpatrick’s floor this year has been like 15 points. That’s pretty good.”

What quarterbacks do you like, dislike in Week 7? “I like Eli Manning this week. I know he stunk last week…but look at his numbers at home against the Cowboys, they’re historically very good. Carson Palmer, Cam Newton, Philip Rivers all starts for me at quarterback. Ryan Tannehill, as well. Guys I’m benching: Sam Bradford, Matthew Stafford has six touchdown passes in five home against the Vikings. That’s not very good. I don’t trust Joe Flacco on the road. I don’t trust Joe Flacco against the Cardinals. I would sit him this week, without question.”
