Fabiano’s Fantasy Focus: Week 14, Vol. I – Do Or Die

Every week during the NFL season, Sports Illustrated Senior Fantasy Analyst Michael Fabiano joins Sports360AZ’s Brad Cesmat to share his insight on building and developing your fantasy team for success.

In our most recent conversation with Michael (Dec. 7), we discussed what managers should do heading into the final week of the regular season in most leagues. Here is what the Hall-of-Famer had to say:

As They Seem To Have Every Week, More Notable Injuries Occurred This Past Weekend, Including One To Adam Thielen That Could Keep Him Out For A While. How Does That Impact Minnesota’s Other Offensive Players?

“They play Thursday, so I don’t think Thielen is going to be active for that game because high ankle sprains can last a while. In the meantime, K.J. Osborn is a really good play against the Steelers if you’re in need. He had a touchdown last week and he showed earlier in the season that he’s a bit of a playmaker. Tyler Conklin should see more targets as well, which makes him a lot more attractive at the tight end position.”

This Is The Last Week Of The Regular Season In Most Leagues And The Stakes Are Extremely High For Some Managers. Who Are Some Good Spot-Starts This Week?

“There aren’t many. I don’t think Taysom Hill will be available in most leagues, but if he is, pick him up because he’s got the Jets this week. He has a finger injury, though, so keep an eye on that. I saw Cam Newton get dropped in some leagues as well, so if that’s the case in your league, consider picking him up against Atlanta. It is a risk, but so is everyone else you pick up off of the waiver wire at this point in the season. People may have dropped D’Onta Foreman because the Titans were off last week, and he also may have some value.”

I’m Sure The Absolute Spectacle That Was Bills-Patriots On Monday Night Football Cost Plenty Of People Their Matchups This Week. What Advice Do You Have For People Who Are Invested In New England’s Passing Attack?

“Hopefully you aren’t. Hopefully you didn’t have to start Mac Jones because he was not a good play based on the matchup, and they have a bye coming up so you’re going to have to replace them regardless. Kendrick Bourne is a guy that a lot of people probably played, same with Hunter Henry and Jakobi Meyers, and unfortunately the Patriots’ game plan was to run, run and run some more. It is what it is.
