Fabiano’s Fantasy Focus: Week 11, Vol. I – Preparing For The Home Stretch

Every week during the NFL season, Sports Illustrated Senior Fantasy Analyst Michael Fabiano joins Sports360AZ’s Brad Cesmat to share his insight on building and developing your fantasy team for success.

In our most recent conversation with Michael (Nov. 9), we discussed the best candidates to help your team load up for a playoff push, and a couple of under-the-radar QBs who could pay big dividends. Here is what the Hall-of-Famer had to say:

Jimmy Garoppolo Owned The Rams Once Again On Monday Night Football. Should Managers Look At Him This Week Against The Jaguars?

“There are only two teams off this week, and only one of those quarterbacks is fantasy-friendly, that being Matthew Stafford. So keep that in mind. Is he worth an add? If you need a quarterback, I’d suggest picking up Cam Newton instead if given the choice, but Jimmy G played well this past week. However, the Jaguars defense has also played very well against quarterbacks the last two weeks. I feel like Garoppolo is still limited to two-quarterback leagues, but he is playing well.”

Mac Jones Is Another Quarterback Who’s Been On A Hot Streak Lately. Do You Start Him Against The Falcons?

“I’m iffy on him, and I don’t like starting guys I’m iffy about on Thursday night because you run the risk of already having a stinker in your lineup come Sunday morning. The matchup is good. Atlanta’s defense is nothing special. If you’re in a two-quarterback league, you obviously would start him, but again, there are only two teams off this week, so you can probably do better than Mac Jones.”

Who Are Some Running Backs That You Would Recommend Adding Or Trading For Based On Strength Of Schedule?

“I have a long list. The Eagles have a really good schedule, but can you trust Miles Sanders? The Broncos have a good schedule as well, so maybe you get Melvin Gordon III on the cheap. He didn’t have a great game last week, though. D’Andre Swift has a really good schedule the rest of the way but he’s going to cost you a lot. Elijah Mitchell is another guy who I wouldn’t mind grabbing. He saw a lot of carries against the Rams and Kyle Shanahan loves him.”

Lastly, Hunter Henry Has Been Killing It As Of Late. Do You Pick Him Up For Thursday Night’s Game?

“He looks like Gronk junior. Okay, maybe not but he’s getting in the end zone a lot. Jonnu Smith is the guy who people thought would be more prominently involved in the offense, but he’s barely been a factor. It’s not like Henry is getting a ton of volume like Dan Arnold in Jacksonville, but he’s getting those important red zone opportunities. At a thin position, he’s a bona fide TE1.”
