The MLB All-Star game in Cleveland will have some Sedona Red in the staring lineup. Ketel Marte has been named as a starter for the National League. Marte will join Freddie Freeman of the Atlanta Braves on the right side of the infield after topping Freeman’s Braves teammate Ozzie Albies and Milwaukee’s Mike Moustakas.

This is Marte’s first career All-Star selection and he becomes the second-ever D-backs second baseman to earn a starting assignment (also Jay Bell, 1999). Marte is just the fifth different D-backs player in franchise history to receive a starting nod, joining Bell, Matt Williams (1999), Luis Gonzalez (2001) and Paul Goldschmidt (2014-15). Marte has put together a terrific season for the Diamondbacks, hitting.316, with 20 HR, 51 RBI, 17 2B, 4 3B, 54 runs scored.
