It’s official – Devin Booker, widely regarded as the greatest Sun of all-time, is staying home.
Booker signed a two-year, $145 million extension to remain in Phoenix.
“This moment means so much to me and my family,” Booker said. “Ten years ago, my NBA dreams became reality when I was drafted here and Phoenix is my home. I love this city and am proud of what we have accomplished throughout my decade here. I am grateful to Mat Ishbia and the entire Phoenix Suns organization for the partnership. Thank you fans for your loyalty and support. More to come!”
The $72.5 million per year surpasses Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s annual salary of $71.3 million ($285M/4 yr), making Booker the highest annual earner in NBA history.

Phoenix’s all-time scoring leader is the only player drafted in 2015 that’s still with the team that chose him.
Loyalty – something that we see less and less of from franchises and players alike these days.
“Devin Booker is the embodiment of the Phoenix Suns, representing the best of our organization, our community and our future,” Suns owner Mat Ishbia said. “As the team’s all-time leading scorer, his on-court achievements are unparalleled and the result of his relentless preparation and unwavering pursuit of excellence. His character, leadership and ‘I’ll do it’ mentality define the standards and culture we uphold. Moreover, his connection with our fans is unique – his impact resonates across the Valley, and his tireless efforts in supporting Arizona’s youth and families reflect the deep community bond we cherish.”
The kid from Moss Point, Mississippi is a two-time All-NBAer (2022 First Team, 2024 Third Team) and a four-time All-Star.
In the Suns record books, Booker is also fourth in assists, first in threes, third in playoff points, and second in playoff threes.
Not to mention, a two-time Olympic gold medalist with USA Basketball.

LeBron James
Michael Jordan
Stephen Curry
Oscar Robertson

This offseason, the Suns traded Kevin Durant in a historic seven-team deal.
After a successful NBA draft, Phoenix landed Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, Daeqwon Plowden, rookies Khaman Maluach, Rasheer Fleming, Koby Brea, and picks in return.
While there’s still more work to be done as far as retooling this roster, there’s always one common denominator in the last decade: Devin Booker is the cornerstone of it all.
