Dear Jahii…Are the Suns in your future?

Arizona Sports News online

Dear Jahii,

I just finished watching you put on another show in a Sun Devil uniform.Texas Tech never had a chance.

You are just a few months away from walking out of Wells Fargo Arena for the final time. I’ve seen you grow up from a skinny little kid at Mesa High into a man who’s ready for the NBA.
I remember when you dropped 58 on Brophy in your final high school game. I hope that when your college career ends in March, I will be able to recall that game too…

I am not putting any pressure on you, but there’s no excuse for not leading your team into the NCAA Tourney this year. You are one of the top ten players in the college game. You have enough supporting talent around you to make a postseason run. I understand you can’t do it all on your own, but let’s not go through the scenario of having to win a few games at the Pac-12 tourney in order to just squeeze in…

On another note, I was asked about you at a speaking event this week. The person wanted to know if the Phoenix Suns would have an interest drafting you. The Suns could have up to four first round draft picks in June. I could certainly see a scenario where you could wear purple and orange. I am sure the ASU contingent doesn’t like me talking about the NBA, but facts are your going to start seeing paychecks with the decimal point way down the line starting in just 7 months. Enjoy the ride…
