Just prior to his internet-viral press conference after winning the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship at Phoenix Raceway last year, Ben Rhodes made a stop at The Barn on the raceway midway concourse.
The 24-year-old Kentucky native was more than ready to celebrate his first NASCAR championship and was in search of his hometown classic, a good ol’ Old Fashioned. Rhodes was astonished when the bartender at the track not only didn’t have the proper ingredients to concoct the drink but also didn’t know how to make it.
In 2022, Rhodes will again fight for a Truck Series championship on Friday, Nov. 4. But this year, The Barn has added a new specialty drink in his honor as everyone will be able to order an old fashioned during Championship Weekend.
The defending champ walks us through how to make his favorite drink with some Ben Rhodes flare while he discusses the elation of claiming the title one year ago and what it would mean to raise the trophy again. And this year, The Barn will be ready for his arrival.
