A note from Sports360az CEO Brad Cesmat
“Gridiron” Chris Eaton is joining Sports360az as a contributor to our platforms. I first met Chris on the sidelines at Casteel High School a few years back, but I was well aware of his work and reputation through my teammates Eric Sorenson and Jordan Hamm and others who would speak so highly about him as a person and his humbleness. Chris’s manual scoreboard on Friday nights/Saturday mornings is brilliant! His context of what happened, when it happened, how it happened, who made it happen, and what will happen makes Chris a must-follow, listen, read, and watch. I asked Chris for a few thoughts on joining Sports360az, and he sent this over…
Chris Eaton grew up in the Valley (Horizon alum) and got re-energized with high school football back in 2005 while being a “band dad” for his daughter at North Canyon (5A-II champs that year!). Once she moved out of the house and went on to college, he made a hobby of following and covering Arizona high school football, focusing in on the 6A and 5A conferences. It was in 2009 that he launched the Gridiron Arizona web site (now defunct) and covered games, teams, and athletes there. In 2017, he moved over his operations to work with Ralph Amsden and several others at Arizona Varsity. For the last 7 years, he’s been a regular on the Tuesday night Chilly 2-piece show on Twitter. For the last 10 years, he’s covered high school recruiting tracking all of the offers and commitments for players throughout the state of Arizona (434 college signees for the Class of ’24!). He’s excited to join this “3rd venture” and work with the guys and gals at Sports360AZ, which he’s been a die-hard follower of the television programs and other online content they’ve produced. Chris lives with his wife, Susan, and their two cats in North Phoenix.
