Chaparral’s Tyler Whiley commits

One of the top recruits in the great Arizona 2014 class has announced his commitment and for the first time in this class, the commitment is to Arizona State.

Tyler Whiley, is coming off a breakout 2012 junior season in which he had 36 catches for 610 yards and 10 touchdowns on offense as a receiver and 49 tackles with two interceptions on defense according to Maxpreps.

The 6-0, 180 pound Whiley recently announced his top five schools while included Arizona State along with Arizona, UCLA, Oklahoma State and Tennessee. He visited with the ASU coaching staff over the weekend and it didn’t take long for him to decide ASU was the place for him.

He was being recruited on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball but based on the lack of depth for the Sun Devils at the wide receiver position, that may be the spot for him at the next level.
