Chandler Smith Survives Call811.com 200 at Phoenix Raceway

A wild Saturday concludes the second day of action for the Shriner’s Childrens 500 weekend at Phoenix Raceway.

After a wild melee that ended in heartbreak for Justin Allgaier, 21-year-old, Chandler Smith claimed victory for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Call811.com 200 for his second career NASCAR Xfinity Series win.

“We just lacked a little bit on the 7 (Allgaier),” Smith said. “I hate that happened to him—he had that in the bag. I’m so proud of everybody back at Joe Gibbs Racing. It’s good finally to get this first win off our back for these guys. So, let’s go keep racking ‘em up.”

Jesse Love slid by Sheldon Creed for the second spot, Austin Hill finished fourth, while defending series champion, Cole Custer rounded out the top five.

The race weekend is capped off on Sunday with the stars of the NASCAR Cup Series on full display for the Shriner’s Childrens 500. The action kicks off with gates opening at 8:00 a.m. MST. If you can’t make it out to Avondale, the green flag will fly at 12:30 p.m. MST on FOX.
