Central’s Vanterpool is a Prospect to Make Note Of

Arizona Sports News online

There is a sleeper prospect over at Central High School.

Micah Vanterpool was a starter at offensive tackle as a sophomore for the Bobcats. Early in his sophomore campaign, he sustained a concussion that would keep him out for most of the season before returning for one final game which happened to be his team’s last game of the year.

The concussion as well as other little nagging injuries that Vanterpool sustained led to him making the decision to stop playing football for a year. He focused on just basketball for his junior year taking a year away from a game he played growing up.

Now for his senior year, Vanterpool is back on the football field and feels healthy and rejuvenated. He has put on size and added skill which caught the attention of schools at the next level during spring practices this past May. He was offered by Adams State and Arizona Christian while also receiving interest from some division I programs. The bigger schools just wants to see film which Vanterpool has every intention of giving them this season.

For a young man with incredible grades which currently has him Ninth plus a very sought after body-type and skill set that could eventually make him one of the faster rising prospects as this 2016 season unfolds.

Two more names to remember…

Eloi and Cosmas Kwete Central 2016

These two are twin brothers named Eloi (23) and Cosmas (99) Kwete. Eloi is a linebacker and Cosmas is a defensive end. They were originally born in Congo, Africa and moved to Zimbabwe when they were kids. They were both selected and played for the Zimbabwe National Rugby Team before they moved to America. Coach Jon Clanton saw them at registration and encouraged them to come out for football.

Their rugby instincts were on full display in their first ever football action friday night against Fairfax as they were everywhere on defense.  Both are raw and will continue to improve but as sophomores, there could be some outstanding football on the horizon by the time all is said and done for them on the high school gridiron.
