Marvin Harrison Jr. may be the next Larry Fitzgerald, but the Cardinals need more than one impact player on their roster. Trading down is becoming more enticing, especially after last week’s events.
-Minnesota needs a QB after Kirk Cousins went to Atlanta. New England dealt away Mac Jones the previous week. Yes, Sam Darnold could fill the hole short-term with the Vikings, who signed the former 49er QB. Washington shipped out starter Sam Howell to Seattle, too. The New York Giants have to find a solution under center. After the flurry of activity in free agency, the new NFL Draft order gives our hometown heroes on the gridiron plenty of options with the fourth pick.
-Sit tight and take Harrison Jr., assuming no last-minute curve balls happen in front of them with the first three picks, all expected to be quarterbacks. It’s a safe pick. No one would criticize the Cardinals for taking Harrison with such a gaping hole at wide receiver, with Hollywood Brown going to Kansas City and Rondale Moore shipped off to Atlanta. What if New England trades out of 3 for a team that takes Harrison? Patriots could still find their quarterback at 5. The Chargers don’t need a quarterback and they DO need WR help for Justin Herbert….
-Minnesota should be the team the Cardinals engage with the most for trading down from the fourth spot. The Vikings now have picks 11, 23, and 42. With Cousins’s departure, they need a quarterback, and J.J. McCarthy should be sitting on the board. If Arizona were to get picks 11 and 23, it would hold four of the top thirty-five picks. This is just one of many scenarios I could see unfolding on draft day. Trading down is not sexy, but this franchise has more holes than just at WR. I loved what Monti Ossenfort did last April, and now he has a big chip to use next month. There is no way he doesn’t come out a winner on the draft’s opening night…
Pittsburgh has Justin Fields and Russel Wilson while giving up a bag of rocks in return for the two. Crazy how QB’s get tossed into the fire and then sent around the League.
Just so we are clear Brock Purdy is the top QB from the 2022 draft class…

The “How did you pull yourself together to hit that big shot”, or “How does it feel to see all of these fans cheering for you”, is about as much as I am expecting because the agents, marketers, branding(scripting)producers, ESPN executive folks will likely have say over what you see outside of the basketball games. Hope I am wrong on this one…
