Brandon Huffman on ASU’s Seven Golden Ticket Offers

It’s Year 2 for ASU’s Golden Ticket concept. On the first day schools can speak to athletes entering their junior years, the ASU Football has given out golden tickets to publicly declare high-profile in-state recruits. The ticket comes with an offer, but it should be known that doesn’t mean the staff hasn’t been recruiting them.

It’s just a way to publicly share their intentions to give out committable offers to a handful of in-state players that fit the program.

In the cycle of golden tickets, the Sun Devils earned a commitment from elite Basha offensive tackle Jake Hildebrand.

That also doesn’t mean other players in the state won’t be recruited. Westwood’s Sinei Tengei received an offer heading into his senior year after a strong showing at ASU’s summer big man camp. The same happened days ago for 2027 Mesa athlete Kingston Anetema.

But to receive a golden ticket means you’re one of seven (at least this year) players that the Devils want to prioritize in-state.

On3’s Brandon Huffman joined Sports360AZ to break down each player who received a golden ticket Sunday night/Monday morning and ASU’s in-state recruiting strategy as a whole.

Players mentioned:

Kacey Allen Jr. – Hamilton, Keaton Fields – Hamilton, Nekhi Lambeth – Desert Edge, Liam McNeal – Horizon, Makai Nelson – Basha, Sione Taueli – Mesa, Landen Wade – Basha
