It’s been a busy selection Sunday for bowl season, and the bowl games here in the state have learned their participants.
First, the Fiesta Bowl is one of the College Football Playoff semifinal games. That side of the bracket features No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Georgia. Both teams have first team byes.
Georgia will play the winner of Ole Miss and Tulane. Ohio State will play the winner of Texas A&M and Miami.
The Fiesta Bowl kicks off January 8 at 5 :30 PM Arizona time.
The Rate Bowl will host Minnesota and New Mexico on December 26 at Chase Field. This is the fifth time the Gophers have played in the Rate Bowl. New Mexico sits at 9-3 and will be playing in this game for the first time since 1997.
The Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl brought to you by Gin & Juice by Dre & Snoop will kick off on December 27 at 2:30 PM. This year’s edition features Fresno State and Miami (OH).
The Redhawks are back-to-back Arizona Bowl participants. Last year, they beat Colorado State 43-17. This is the Fresno State’s first appearance. The Bulldogs have appeared in five straight bowl games.
Fresno State is 8-4 out of the Mountain West Conference and Miami (OH) is the second-place team out of Mid-American Conference.
