Brock Purdy has had a laundry list of accomplishments in the last two years running the Perry Puma offense.
He accumulated over 4,400 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards as a senior with 67 touchdowns, earning Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year, the Ed Doherty Award, the Arizona Cardinals High School Player of the Year and the Sports360AZ High School Football Celebration GIF Award along the way.

But he did not have that big-time offer.
It was one of the bigger questions as to who would pull the trigger on the Perry quarterback. On Monday evening, it was Boise State.
“It’s mind-blowing that a school believes in me, a bigger school basically,” Purdy said. “My family and I are so excited. Finally I have an opportunity to play for a big-time program so it’s special.”

Boise State offensive coordinator Zak Hill had been in contact with Purdy the past few weeks and he has also talked to head coach Bryan Harsin.
“They said they like my game, and they like how I carry myself off the field as well,” Purdy said.
Boise State is particularly good at recruiting Arizona, dating back to when Chris Petersen – who is now head coach at Washington – was running the program. Currently, the Broncos have five Arizona players on their roster including former Chaparral tight end Jake Roh and former Sunrise Mountain quarterback Chase Cord.
“It’s special the kind of quarterbacks that come through Boise they recruit really well in Arizona,” Purdy said. “I’m just thankful they noticed my talents on and off the field and they do a great job of finding kids all over down south, Arizona, in California… just to have the opportunity to play for Coach Harsin and what coach Petersen has been able to come from with his roots, it’s a blessing. It’s a great opportunity for my family and I. I’m excited for it and we’ll see what happens from here.”
Purdy still intends to sign with a college during the February signing period and will not partake in the early signing period. Earlier in the day, Brad Cesmat and I interviewed 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Greg Biggins, and he spoke about how the early signing day could help players like Purdy, guys that were incredibly productive on the field but had not quite seen their recruitments pick up.
Purdy now has offers from Boise State, NAU, UC-Davis, Southern Utah, New Mexico State, UNLV and Montana State as well as a preferred walk-on spot with Alabama.
Will more offers come? We’ll have to see.
