BJ Green Announces Intention to Enter Transfer Portal

The college football transfer portal officially opened on Monday, and it will be a crucial month for Arizona State as they build out their roster heading into Year 2 of the Kenny Dillingham era.

Mainstays like Jordan Clark and Jalin Conyers had announced last week that they intend to enter the portal.

BJ Green, who was tied for the sack lead for the Sun Devils this year, announced Monday he is following the same route.

Green leaves Tempe after three years with 13.5 sacks in his career. He came to Tempe as a walk-on and led the team with five sacks in six games. After earning a scholarship ahead of his sophomore year, he had 2.5 sacks in eight games.

He entered the transfer portal last offseason, only to return with this new coaching staff.

He thrived in Brian Ward’s defensive system and ended up tied for the team lead in sacks with six this season.

So far, Sun Devil players who have announced their intention to enter the portal includes Green, Clark, Conyers, James Djonkham, Shawn Russ, Javen Jacobs and Drew Pyne. Will Shaffer and Isaia Glass announced their intentions mid-season to maintain their redshirt status.
