Bijan and Field Conditions, Health and the Open Final Four

Arizona Sports News online

Bijan Robinson is going to be running on a hay-field Saturday night against Chandler. If you’ve driven by Hamilton high school in recent days you’ll know what I’m talking about. The field at Hamilton is not in the best of shape from what I can tell. It’s certainly not the turf that Campo Verde’s stadium had to offer. I was told Monday that if there were more bleachers at Campo, then the Bijan show would’ve been played on the turf off the San Tan 202 and Higley. Keep on eye on the field conditions for this epic matchup. With rain coming into the area, could the track become a problem for Salpointe…

Hamilton and Saguaro met in a scrimmage at Higley High School this past August. The Huskies came after the Sabercats offense again and again on that night. The size of Hamilton on the line against the speed of the Sabercats will be the intriguing part of this matchup. Also, there’s  a couple of Saguaro players who at one time were on campus at Hamilton before transferring out. This game may get chippy…

Of the final four schools, Hamilton has easily played the most difficult schedule and it’s not even close. Going through the Premire Region and Centennial in the last month, it’s a surprise that the Huskies aren’t beat up. There’s some rumblings that the same can’t be said for one of the other teams playing on Saturday night. Health may well be a factor. Stay tuned…

I had former Hamilton head coach Steve Belles in studio on Saturday. I won’t be surprised if he is asked to start coaching again in the coming weeks. Belles weighed in on the Final Four and the job that Mike Zdebski is doing at Hamilton along with Arizona Varsity’s Ralph Amsden on our new show Sports360az w/Brad Cesmat on Fox Sports Arizona(Direct TV 686, Cox Cable 1034)
