Basha QB Demond Williams Jr. Decommits From Ole Miss

Basha 4-star quarterback Demond Williams Jr. took to Twitter on Friday afternoon to announce his decision to back out of his commitment to Ole Miss. Demond is rated as the No. 1 quarterback in the state for the class of 2024 and is No. 16 nationally.

Demond Committed to the Rebels on Dec. 30. Demond competed in the Elite 11 regional held at the Ole Miss stadium. He was later invited to compete in the Elite 11 finals in Las Vegas. As one of the most sought-after recruits in the state, Demond holds offers from over two dozen programs. On the list of programs that have pursued him aggressively are the University of Arizona, UCLA and Michigan State.

Last season Demond posted 2,339 passing yards with 23 touchdowns and just one interception. He rushed for 764 yards with five touchdowns, according to MaxPreps. He ultimately led the Basha Bears to their first-ever Open Division State Title.
