ASU Women’s Hoops Gets First Win of Molly Miller Era

There’s been so much change this offseason for Arizona State women’s basketball.

Molly Miller is now running the program. There’s virtually an entirely new roster, and a new foundation being built.

The first test for the Sun Devils was a Coppin State team that was ready to play spoiler for this new era in Tempe.

At the end of the third quarter, ASU trailed the Eagles 43-40, but the Sun Devils flipped the switch and had a 27-point quarter to cruise to their first victory.

The win was fueled by many of the pillars of a Molly Miller team: great defense, energy and sharing the basketball. Four Sun Devils reached the double-digit mark in scoring, and Last-Tear Poa led the team with 10 assists.

The Sun Devils now have a few days to get things ironed out before hosting Eastern Washington at Desert Financial Arena.
